Holiday Suitability
A holiday with H2O often involves experiencing conditions, customs and lifestyles that differ from home life. Different may be part of what you are looking for from your holiday but not everyone is looking for the same thing. Within this site you'll find Activity Guides, Destination Guides and Holiday Guides where we provide detail to help you decide if a holiday is suitable for you. If the style ('class') or type of accommodation is important Click Here, if you are interested in Travel Options and the options for Premium Travel to your destination Click Here. If it all seems a bit complicated Contact Us.
Holiday Grade
We give each holiday a Grade to guide you in choosing a suitable holiday. These grades are subjective, it's impossible to fully describe what the holiday will demand due to unkown factors, like mother nature. Your own Skill & Fitness Levels are important:
|
Skills Levels - Our Holiday Grades take into account the level of knowledge and experience required, as well as any specific qualifications. We refer to these as Skill Levels. |
Fitness Levels - To fully enjoy an active holiday your level of fitness should match, or surpass, that required by the demands that will be placed on you. |
Our aim is simply to provide an overall indicator of what you might expect allowing you to compare options. Booking a holiday which is beyond your current level will hinder your enjoyment of it, and may also impact on other guests. Our guides have to make an assesment locally before setting out so if you have any doubts about a holiday's suitability please ask us before booking.
More on FitnessUnless you participate regularly at home we recommend that you spend some time improving your fitness to help ligaments and muscles prepare for your active holiday. Even if you work out regularly you'll need to consider appropriate exercises to handle situations that you'll experience. Doing the exercise before you go will enhance your enjoyment of your holiday and help to reduce injury risks. We recommend you begin 4-8 weeks prior to your holiday and perhaps speak to a fitness trainer at your local gym about putting together a programme for you. If you can't get to your local sports centre or gym there are still things that you can do. Swimming and bike riding are good ways to get in shape but there are things you can do at home or work: don't take the lift or stand on a escalator walk up instead; walk to work instead of driving or taking public transport; find exercises to do at your desk.
